The 8 day Lhasa to Kathmandu Overland Tour via EBC explores Lhasa as well as other famous places such as Yamutso Lake, Pelkhor and Tashilunbu onasteries, and Everest Base Camp. In Lhasa we visit most holy Jokhang temple, see the legendary eighth-wonder Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace (the summer palace of the Dalai Lama), Drepung, Sera Monastery and more. Then we head of the Everest Base Camp passing through a wide range of the highlands, crossing magnificent passes, and through remarkable landscapes. Also visit world's highest monastery, the Rongbuk Monastery. Then via Zhangmu, we drive to Kathmandu after crossing the international border at the Friendship Bridge.

Arrival in Lhasa

Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, your tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Lhasa. You can take the rest of the day to relax and acclimate to the high altitude.

Lhasa City Tour

You will visit some of the famous attractions in Lhasa, such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street.

Lhasa City Tour

You will continue exploring Lhasa with a visit to Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Norbulingka Palace.

Lhasa to Shigatse

You will depart Lhasa and drive to Shigatse. Along the way, you will visit Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier. You will also stop at the Gyantse Kumbum and Pelkor Monastery.

Shigatse to Rongbuk Monastery

You will drive from Shigatse to Rongbuk Monastery, which is the highest monastery in the world. Along the way, you will stop at the Tashilunpo Monastery.

Rongbuk Monastery to Everest Base Camp

You will drive from Rongbuk Monastery to Everest Base Camp. You can hike to the base camp and take in the breathtaking view of Mount Everest.

Everest Base Camp to Gyirong

You will drive from Everest Base Camp to Gyirong. Along the way, you will pass through Tingri and Shegar.

Gyirong to Kathmandu

You will cross the Gyirong border and enter Nepal. You will then drive to Kathmandu, where your tour will end. Along the way, you will pass through Langtang National Park and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
