Lower Dolpo Trek: A Journey Through Nepal’s Hidden Gem

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the Lower Dolpo Trek, a journey renowned for its remote and isolated beauty. Since its opening in 1982, this trek has captivated adventurers with its challenging routes and breathtaking landscapes.

Highlights of the Lower Dolpo Trek:

1. High Mountain Passes: Experience the thrill of crossing three high passes—Kangmarala (5,115m), Numla (5,159m), and Baga La (5,190m). These passes offer panoramic views of the rugged Dolpo region and its dramatic terrain.

2. Shey Phoksundo National Park: Explore the renowned Shey Phoksundo National Park, home to diverse flora and fauna. The trek leads you to the stunning Phoksundo Lake, Nepal's deepest lake, situated at 3,611m.

3. Remote Beauty: Discover the pristine landscapes of the Karnali Region. Lower Dolpo is characterized by its dry, unproductive environment, yet the local communities are known for their warmth and hospitality.

4. Cultural Immersion: Engage with the local Tibetan Buddhist culture. Dolpo's inhabitants, a population of fewer than 5,000, still maintain traditional lifestyles, including trading salt, cotton, barley, and rice with Tibet.

5. Flexible Itinerary: Customize your trek according to your preferences. Whether you wish to shorten or extend the journey, we offer flexible arrangements to suit your schedule. The trekking season runs from March to November.

Why Choose the Lower Dolpo Trek?

This trek is a unique opportunity to explore one of Nepal's most remote regions, renowned for its ancient villages, traditional Buddhist monasteries, and Tibetan plateau. With its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty, the Lower Dolpo Trek is a must for any avid trekker.
