Kusumkangguru peak climbing (6367m) was first ascended in the autumn of 1979 by a Japanese Team.Kusumkangru peak climbing is an impressive rock and ice peak which from the border between the dudh kosi  in the south and Hinku valley to the north. It is name originating in Sherpa language means the three snow- white Gods. This climb is suggested only for participants who have enough alpine mountaineering experience.

The approach to the southeast face from the hinku valley side. From lukla the base camp can be reached in 5 to 6 days. The assent route to the main summit is through the south east face. With a base camp at (4450m) two or three high camp are required to complete the climb. North ridge the north ridge is approached from manju on the trail namche bazar. From base camp ascend steep grass and tree and finally a ramp leading to the ridge proper.

Kusumkangru climbing route: south East Ridge: first ascend was 1979 Japanese team. The approached through South east face is from the Hinku valley side requires 3 to 4 camp. From lukla the base camp can be reached 4 to 5 day. The ascent route to the main summit is through the south east face. With base camp at 4450m, two or three high camp is required to complete the climb.

North East Ridge: first ascent was made 1983 by dr. David hopkens, (nearthird) Swiss and Andrew wielochoiski (uk) reached on 16th September. It provide reasonable albeit high standard climb. The climb can be complete in 6 to 7 days.  From base camp involves major difficulties on both rock and ice climb. The north ridge is approached from monju on the trail to Namchebazar from base camp ascend steep Grassland and scree climb and finally a ramp leading to the ridge proper.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival Kathmandu (1275m)

Upon Arrival in Kathmandu Airport you will be expected to complete your custom formalities (Visa etc.) We suggest you to look for our representative who will be waiting for you at the arrival gate with the Everest View Treks And Expedition display board you will then be transferred to hotel Marshyangdi or another hotel similar category Include B/B.

Day 2

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla [2800m/9184ft] [45 minutes] and Trek to Chhuthang [3020 m/9905 ft] [4-5 hrs Trek]

Today we start early for a short but spectacular flight to Lukla where we meet our crew. After landing at Lukla our trek starts as we head east, passing through a number of tiny hamlets before entering the thick forest on the hillside below the Kalo Himal Ridge. Be careful to stay with the group on this section as there are many trails leading away from the main path. There are many streams in the area, all of which are loosely referred to as Chhuthang. Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 3

 Trek from Chhuthang to Tuli Kharka [4100m/13448ft] via Zatrawala Pass [4600m/15088ft] [5-6 hrs Trek]

After an early breakfast, we continue our trek over a steep ascending trail that heads for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass at 4600 meters. From the top of the pass, we can enjoy the spectacular views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and many other fascinating peaks. Our trek continues along the leveled trail for almost one and half hours before dropping downhill all the way to Tuli Kharka for our overnight stay. Overnight at tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 4

 Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe [4182m/13716ft] [6-7 hrs Trek]

From Tuli Kharka our trail is a mixture of both uphill and downhill trekking through the adense forest filled with rhododendron, oak, pine and juniper trees. During our trek today we will have magnificent views of Mera Peak and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. A steep descent to the Hinku River and a final uphill climb will lead us to Kothe. Kothe lies to the west side of the Hinku valley and offers serene wilderness with lush vegetation to trekkers. Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 5

Trek from Kote to Thangnak [4326 m/14189 ft] [4-5 hrs Trek]

Our trail from Kothe goes along the Ridge of Hinku River towards Gondishung. Further trekking we will pass through Lungsumgba Gompa which was built approximately 200 years ago. Here we can find Mera Peak along with its route scripted in rock which is a fantastic piece of rock carving architecture. Our trek continues with a rather easy walking trail that leads to the summer grazing area of Thangnak where there are shops and number of good tea houses. Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 6

 Rest & Acclimatization in thagnag hike around thanak.

 

Today Rest day Acclimatization After Break fast we can hike around 300-400 m up hill around Thangna then come back to hotel  Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 7

Trek to kusumkangru base camp overnight tent camp.

Today Trek to Kusumkangru Base camp We walk mostly up hill and gradual flat up hill to base camp Overnight Tent Camp Include meal B/L/D.

Day 8

Acclimatization day in kusumkangru base camp and climbing preparation.

Day 9

Kusumkangru base camp to trek to high camp (5100 m) 4 to 5 hrs walk overnight tent camp.

Day 10

 Trek from High camp to  to  camp 1.  4 to 5 hrs walk overnight tent camp.

Day 11

 Trek From Camp 1  to  Camp 2 overnight tent camp.

Day 12

Trek from  camp 2  to  camp 3 overnight tent camp.

Day 13

 Today summit day Kusumkangru peak back to base camp.

Today Summit day Kusumkangru peak we start early morning what time start our Guide tell you before day after Dinner after summit come back to Base camp Overnight tent camp include meal B/L/D.

Day 14

 Trek from Kusumkangru base camp  to Kothe.

Having achieved our target summit of kusumkangru  Peak, we will start retracing our steps from Kusumkangru base camp  and trek through Thangnak before heading further towards Kothe. With mostly downhill trekking, we will leave the high altitudes and enter into the dense sub-tropical forest filled with rhododendron, oak, pine and birch trees. We trek until we arrive at Kothe for our overnight stay. Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 15

Trek from Kothe to Tuli Kharka [5-6 hrs Trek]

Leaving Kothe, our trail is an uphill trekking through dense rhododendron forest that goes over the western section of Hinku valley towards Tuli Kharka. From Tuli Kharka we can enjoy the magnificent views of Mera North, Mera Central and South face of Mera Peak. Overnight at Tea house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 16

Trek from Tuli Kharka to Lukla via Zatrawala Pass [6 hrs walk].

Today is the last day of our trekking. From Tuli Kharka we will gently ascend for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass and from the top of the pass, we start descending to finally arrive back to Lukla. In the evening we will celebrate together with our crew for successful Kusumkangru Peak Climbing.  Overnight at Guest house Include meal B/L/D.

Day 17

FLY back from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

 

We will take an early morning scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel after landing at the airport. You can either have rest at Hotel or visit sites that weren’t possible on the second day of the trip. Enjoy your leisure time in Kathmandu. Include B/B.

Day 18

 Fly home farewell friend.

You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal. Comes to an end today we hope you enjoyed the tour with us, and are sure you will be back in your trip somewhere in the Himalayan again. Approximately 3 hour before your scheduled flight a representative from Everest View Treks And Expedition will transfer you to the airport on your way home you ll have plenty of time to plan your next Adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
