Tharpu Chuli Peak also known as Tent Peak, located in the Annapurna region and known for its distinct shape, Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing offers a thrilling experience on the journey to its summit. Situated in the center of the Annapurna Sanctuary opposite to the Machhapuchhre (6997m), it is considered to be one of the easier peaks to climb. The climbing journey is not just famed beautiful for its rich cultural diversity ranging from the Gurung but also boasts of a plethora of ecological bounty. 

In Tharpu Chuli Peak or Tent Peak Climbing trek, we will be making our way to Poonhill from where we will be able to view the magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayas. Continuing ahead, we traverse through the Gurung villages to reach Chhomrong and further to Bamboo and Dovan. We will also be making our way to the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Base Camp. These regions present the immense beauty of the Himalayas and offer solitude and pristine trails in such a scale that the luxuries today can never be able to replicate. The scaling of the Tharpu Chuli Peak, being the destination of the trek, offers adventure and ecstasy at the same time. The mountains in the Annapurna region can be thoroughly enjoyed atop the peak. Descending through villages like Ghandruk, we can experience the culture and practices in these areas. The people of this region are a friendly bunch and will give you the heartiest of receptions. The trek will give us a chance to see the blooming rhododendrons, bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls all along the way. We will also get sights for a variety of wildlife and vegetation.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m
Namaste! Welcome to Kathmandu. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel.  Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25 minutes and drive to Nayapul 1070m/2 hours and trek to Tikhedunga 1540m/4-5 hours
We will take an early morning flight to Pokhara and enjoy the beautiful view of the Nepalese Himalayas. This flight is a short one and we will land in the wonderful city of Pokhara. The flights in Nepal are susceptible to being delayed or even canceled due to weather conditions. We will have alternatives on such cases but you will have to bear the charges in such cases.  After reaching Pokhara, we will drive to Nayapul on a scenic road trip and begin our trek to Tikhedhunga, the lush landscape along the small cute wooden houses add a marvelous charm to this trek.  Overnight stay at a lodge in Tikhedhunga.

Day 3

Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani 2860m/6-7 hours
We will continue to walk up the steep terrain. We first pass Ulleri and head towards Banthanti. We will pass the forested areas of rhododendron with small streams and waterfalls along the way. Making way along Bhurungdi River, we will reach the outskirts of Ghorepani. As we reach Ghorepani, we can see small little tea houses where we will spend the night. Overnight stay at a lodge in Ghorepani.

Day 4

Hike to Poon Hill 3210m/1 hour and trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani 2630m/6-7 hours
Early in the morning, before sunrise, we will make our way to Poon Hill to view some spectacular views of the mountains. As the sun rises upon the snow-clad mountains, we can see a color change which almost feels as though the mountains are welcoming us to their humble homes. We will be able to see the beauty of the Annapurna massif along with Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), Gangapurna (7454m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m) and so on. Then we will make our way towards Tadapani. Overnight stay at a lodge in Tadapani. 

Day 5

Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong 2170m/5-6 hours
Today, we will be ascending on an easy trail. As we make the uphill walks through Gurung and Magar villages, we can rejoice in their culture and tradition. Crossing Kimrong River, we also pass Chhomrong pass to finally arrive at Chhomrong. Here, we can enjoy the stunning mountains in the background, well within sight and offering a blessing to these villages to thrive. Overnight stay at a lodge in Chhomrong. 

Day 6

Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan 2600m/5-6 hours
Surrounded by oak, bamboo and rhododendron forests we will make our way to Dovan today. After the village of Sinuwa, the forests become denser and continuing on, we will reach the barren area of Annapurna glacier all the while enjoying the beautiful scenes of the Himalayas. Walking along the Modi River, we halt for the day upon arriving at Dovan. Overnight stay at a lodge in Dovan.   

Day 7

Trek from Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp 3700m/5-6 hours
The trail will begin on a rather easy path with a magnificent view of the Machhapuchhre (6997m) and its neighboring peaks. A rocky path, it gets rugged as we move along. Through a steady climb, we will pass Hinko cave and come upon Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The ranges of the Himalayas look majestic and pristine in the background.  Overnight stay at a lodge in Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

Day 8

 Trek from MBC to Annapurna Base Camp 4130m/2 hours and back to MBC 3700m/1 hour
We can see the first rays of sunlight bouncing off the mountains giving them a beautiful tinge of orange and red. We will mostly be walking on snow and reach the base camp at 4,130m with a spectacular 360-degree view of the mountains. The views include Annapurna massif, mountains like Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6997m) and so on. We will spend some time here, take some photographs and then head on back to MBC. Overnight stay at a lodge in Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

Day 9

Trek from MBC to Tharpu Chuli Base Camp 4400m/3-4 hours
The base camp is a flat rocky camping area, which can be reached along the trail from the Annapurna Base Camp. We will be walking on moraines of the Annapurna Glacier. The geography here is stunning and can be felt only on the high altitude as such. We might be able to meet other trekkers on an expedition in these areas too. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Tharpu Chuli Base Camp.  

Day 10

 Climb from Base Camp to High Camp 4800m/3-4 hours
We will be making an ascent to high camp to today. A steep climb this path is rocky and it is advised that you take much caution when taking this route. We will be blessed with panoramic views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Fishtail (m), Annapurna South (7,229m). We will reach high camp and set up the tents. We can spend the rest of the day practicing for the trek on the following day and learn to use the equipment for the climb. Overnight at a tented camp in High Camp.

Day 11

Summit to Tharpu Chuli 5695m and back to Base Camp 4400m/6-7 hours
We will begin our final climb around midnight. We will cross small streams and be walking on glaciers as we make our way to the summit, which will approximately take 6-7 hours. We will make the climb using ropes that have been pre-fixed. Reaching the top feels ecstatic, as so many days’ worth of hard work will have finally paid off and we will be offered blissful views of the mountains in the Annapurna region. After we enjoy the glorious moment and take some memorable pictures, we will make our way back to the base camp. Overnight at a tented camp in Base Camp.

Day 12

Trek from Base Camp to Deurali 3200m/5-6 hours
Today, we will trek to Deurali through the same way that we came up from. Following similar scenery of dense forests and lush landscape, we will make our way to Deurali.  We will also recall the memories we made as we made our way to the peak.  As we reach Deurali, we will give rest to our much-tired legs. Overnight at a lodge in Deurali. 

Day 13

Trek from Deurali to Sinuwa 2360m/6-7 hours
Through gradual descents and walking down the descending trail, we make our way further below. The trail is paved with the wonderful variety of flora and fauna and beautiful forests of blooming rhododendron. Through small villages, we reach our destination and enjoy the nature as well as cultural beauty in the lap of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at a lodge in Sinuwa.

Day 14

Trek from Sinuwa to Ghandruk Village 1940m/6-7 hours
Making way through Chhomrong, we descend to Ghandruk. A perfect example of the typical Nepalese culture, the village of Ghandruk is famous all over the world and is known for its Gurung and Thakali residents. With Annapurna, Hiunchuli as the background, the village of Ghandruk is a perfect place to sit back and observe the culture of these proud ethnic communities. Overnight stay at a lodge in Ghandruk.

Day 15

Trek from Ghandruk Village to Nayapul 1070m/3-4 hours and drive back to Pokhara 820m/2 hours 
Along familiar landscape of lush green and bounty of nature, we will take our last portion of the walk to Nayapul. After reaching there, we will take a ride to Pokhara and head to our hotel. We will head out to see the nightlife and check out the cuisines at Lakeside today. We can also enjoy the pubs and bars which add a charm to the city. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Pokhara. 

Day 16

 Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu 1300m/25 minutes 
A short flight we will reach Kathmandu today. You can spend this as per your preference. You can head out to the local markets and try out some local cuisine and do souvenir shopping. You can also rest in your hotel as you will have wearied out from the journey. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17

Final Departure from Kathmandu
Our representative will drop you to the airport for your scheduled flight as you end your holiday in Nepal.
